More often than not I have spent at least a few hours with my bride and groom before their wedding day. From the initial e-mails and meetings over coffee to their engagement session and any lunches in between. I get to know my couples pretty well. This was not the case with Chris and Kristen.
One of my best friends is a graphic designer down in San Diego, Joel Evey. Every so often he drives through town back up to San Luis Obispo where he is originally from. A few months back Joel asked me if I was going to be around on a Saturday to grab lunch at one of our favorite restraunts which just happens to be down the street from my house and on his way home. I sadly had to say no as I was heading up to Solvang for a gorgeous wedding at the Alisal Ranch. The next day I received a text from Joel asking what I was doing Sunday. Naturally I thought maybe he moved his travel date and told him I was going to be around in the afternoon. A few minutes later I received a novel of a text explaining his younger sister was getting married up in Cayucos that Sunday and did not have a wedding photographer! So I drove up to Solvang on Saturday, shot at the Alisal Ranch with the lovely Amanda Rae and then trekked over to Cayucos that evening to prep for a last minute wedding! Very exciting indeed. So that Sunday is the first time I met Kristen and Chris.
Kristen and Chris opted for a small ceremony in the afternoon on the beach with just a few close friends and family. After their short n sweet ceremony we got to spend some time together getting some fun photographs of just the two of them on the beach before I headed home. Chris and Kristen were a blast to work with and wanted something a little different so we played around a lot.
Here are just of few of my favorites from their quirky and quick beach wedding:

s h e r r y - Gorgeous!! Not everyday you see a bride get married in purple, but it looks FABULOUS.
Cindy - Great, fun shots! As usual totally awesome.
Jenna Culbertson - I love what you did with the wedding rings and the shoes. It is an interesting take on what could have been an average shot.
