Sometimes we get the opportunity to shoot awesome super small weddings for couples who prefer to have a more intimate ceremony and then go for a couples session right after. We love getting to shoot these types of weddings because we get to know everyone at the wedding as well as spend more time with our bride and groom shooting some epic couples portraits. So when we got an e-mail from Annie and Rick (who live in Alabama) saying they wanted us to shoot their weekday wedding at the Santa Barbara Courthouse we were super excited! The courthouse is such a beautiful place for a small ceremony. The day before their wedding we met up with them in Venice beach to talk more as well as shoot some more casual engagement photos. Since their engagement and wedding photos were shot so close together we thought we would combine their photos into one epic blogpost of radness.

For this Downtown LA engagement session we really rocked out the idea of exploring downtown. We met with Hayley and Ricardo in the Arts district and then took the metro all around LA. It was a lot of fun exploring the area with them. As per usual we saw some crazy things while shooting which made the shoot that much more fun and interesting. We are stoked to be shooting their wedding this coming weekend at Malibou Lake Mountain Club

Marianne - Hi Misha! We shot about 1 hour before sunset in January…so it would have been about 4pm or so on a weekdayReplyCancel

Not only do we love shooting at Maravilla Gardens in Camarillo but it’s even better when it’s a couple like Jeanette and Blake. They are a totally sweet couple who are so very truly in love. We really enjoyed getting to know them and their families and had a lot of fun at their wedding. We not only got to hang out with them but also with another one of our couples who we are actually photographing this weekend! I personally loved Jeanette’s choice in bridesmaids dresses, different cream colored dresses with beautiful flowers to match (and adorable sunglasses!) and her own gorgeous ruffled wedding dress! Their whole wedding decor has a gorgeous rustic but classy feel to it. We can’t wait to see them both at Camberly and Rich’s wedding this weekend!

Cyndi and Ben are getting married ! We are so glad to have met these two and be a part of their wedding celebrations of awesomeness. We had a fun time running around with them and their adorable pup Baxter (who did the funniest things amongst all the brush. I don’t think I can really explain the burrowing running around cuteness that was happening).  We are stoked to see them tomorrow in Long Beach for their big day. Here are just a few from their engagement session:
