So you might immediately recognize these two from just a few posts down! We can’t say enough about how awesome Ava and Tom are and just how super cute their Walnut Grove wedding was. They had so many adorable and rustic details, even down to the s’mores and pie stations! Their wedding was filled to the brim with love and support of amazing people all around. Ava honored her Armenian heritage by following a few traditions we thought were lovely! Including having all the single gals around her sign her wedding shoes while she was getting ready, having her brothers put money in her shoes and slip them on her as well as breaking a plate as they entered into their reception. It was a lot of fun to say the least.

When we met with Lisa and Chris they made one thing very clear: they really wanted photos to be the most important part of their wedding. We did our best to maintain our composure through our excitement for the rest of the meeting while we brainstormed ideas with them (seriously, we could barely make it to the car before we were reveling in how excited we were for this shoot). In the end they decided that they wanted us to shoot a short ceremony at the Santa Barbara Courthouse and then do photos with just the two of them for four more hours around Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, and Ventura! Oh, and did I mention that the Ventura County Fair just happened to be in town that day and they decided that they wanted to shoot there too? Oh yeah. That totally happened! In short, we had a really great time shooting this awesome couple.

Jenette - This is so cool! Taking wedding photos at what looks like a street fair! How playful and non-traditional of the couple. I am so for that, get away from the cliques of weddings and do something that truly shows your joint personalities. We got married in Santa Barbara as well! Beautiful day and thankfully our beach wedding was during low tide!ReplyCancel

I truly think Ava + Tom belong in an Abercrombie catalog. They just have that California ease about them. And they are so down to earth and fun! I think all I probably need to say about Ava and Tom is best depicted in the first photo… That’s right, they climbed a GIANT tree during their engagement session!! How awesome is that!? Even though we only met them 2 weeks before their wedding, we had an awesome time roaming a nearby beach camp area and the shores between Point Mugu and Malibu and getting to know them both. We cannot wait to show you their beautiful rustic wedding which was at Walnut Grove in Moorpark, CA. For now enjoy just a few from their engagement session:

So it’s that time of year again, time to start fresh! 2011 has been a roller coaster of pure awesome for Marianne Wilson Photography. Joe joined the business full time, we got engaged (yay!), and we shot 53 weddings (as well as booked some amazing couples for 2012)!!! It was a heck of a ride and we are so excited for the amazing things to come in 2012! Including our own wedding in less than 2 months, and some great new changes to the business (new last name anyone?).

We still have many, many, many 2011 weddings and engagements to share with you on the blog along with some posts about our own wedding and how all that planning went/is going so keep an eye out and have an AMAZING, safe and happy New Year!

Lots of love,
Marianne Wilson Photography (a.k.a. the future Sanadas)

Oh and because every post needs a photo…
