Wow, that title is sure a mouthful huh? house. I HAD to shoot their wedding. They were spunky and fun from the first e-mail AND they were getting married at an insanely awesome venue. I mean, the LA Natural History Museum! How cool is that?! Almost as cool as Ryan and Jen themselves, almost. Goofy, silly, quirky, sweet, stylish, and fun = Jen + Ryan.

I had such an amazing time at their wedding because they truly made me feel like family. I am so excited to share with you their Los Angeles wedding. Be warned, there are a lot of photos!

A great big thanks to my awesome 2nd shooter/assistant at this wedding Miss Jen Harris, she rocked it out like no other.

Venue: Los Angeles Natural History Museum (and Rose Garden)
Flowers: Chelsea Leah Flowers
Make-up: Karen Jumaoas

So, sometimes I wonder if my mailman thinks I am really popular with all the wedding invites I receive :)

I just wanted to share with you two awesome wedding invitations I just received from two of my amazing couples that have weddings coming up this year.

Remember Alex + Kaori? Of course you do! They had a rockin Los Angeles Engagement session just a few weeks back. Which can be seen: Here

Well, I just received their invites. I knew they were going to be amazing but I had no idea they would be THIS AMAZING! The invites are quirky, creative, and filled with their personalities. totally love them! This is a great example of making everything about your wedding personal. Now, to be fair, Alex and Kaori are super creative by nature and both work in creative fields. So not everyone could pull off totally custom invites like these, but you can definitely incorporate a few personal touches :)

So here are their invites, be inspired!

Another invite I have to show off is Sarah + Luke’s rad plantable invites. Yes, you read correctly, plantable (is that a real word?)! I was so stoked when I got their invites as well. You can bet I will be making a lil’ garden in honor of their wedding with their wedding invitations! Hate wasting all that paper? Want to still actually send out invitations?? This recycled plant paper is a great way to keep it a little greener.

Check these out!

Filipa - I completely and utterly agree! I despise toasters and cutlery as a wedding gifts! They just seem so impersonal and such a lazy option! We want to encourage our guests to get us board games, and art is such a great idea too!ReplyCancel

Jessica and Daniel got married at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Phoenix Arizona. Jessica and Daniel have an amazing friendship, so I think that is highly appropriate. Every time I am around these two I can’t help but smile, feel their joy, and think that they are truly soul mates. Jessica’s mom said it well as we were chatting at their reception, she said, “they have fun no matter what they’re doing”.

You can see this in their smiles, hear it in their laughter, and understand this by the little things they do for each other.

I had an amazing time shooting their wedding, a wedding that was as genuine as they are, perfect. So now I share with you a few of the photographs from Jessica and Daniel’s Phoenix wedding.

Jessica may or may not have been finishing her vows as she was getting ready :)

Jessica had told me a few weeks before the wedding, when giving me her time line, that she was going to surprise Daniel by doing the Hawaiian wedding dance for him directly after their first dance. Adorable! Little did she know Daniel had plans too! Him and his groomsmen surprised her with a little song and dance of their own.

I simply cannot get over how awesome ALL my brides & grooms are. They are full of spunk, style, and sweetness!

Serra and Jack are no exception and it was so fun shooting with them in Santa Barbara for their engagement photo session. We started at the gorgeous Santa Barbara Courthouse and then headed to a nearby park  to finish up. Towards the last 30 minutes of shooting it started POURING rain. Luckily the rain mostly held off till the very end of the session and we shot under some gorgeous (and large) trees which kept us dry…well, mostly dry.
